So He turned down your monitor, is that what you're saying Nick? If so then this is highly inconsiderate, I can understand some sound guys who don't have the equipment to give an excellent on stage sound but they normally explain the situation and come to some sort of compromise. If it's worth anyth...

Electronic / Digital tuners

Hi all,

Just a thought, which tuner do you find the best when setting up your fretless?

The tuner on my Zoom fx is useless for my fretless and I've had to use our guitar players Boss tuner which seems more accurate.

Any thoughts

Well my band are going into the studio in the first week of August to try and get some ideas down, hopefully record 4 tracks. I'm looking to record my bass using a DI and also miking my amp. If all goes well I'll post a link :D

Seems like a good buy, anyone know how the Schaller 3D4 3way adjustable Nickel Bridge works, as in string spacing, trying to figure out if the saddle pieces are on a thread and move from side to side. I 've got a standard bridge on my Fender Jazz at the moment but the string spacing seems quite limi...

Yeah 68 has always got good info, thought I'd offer my bit on your buzz above the 12th fret JV........

What I try to achieve is "buzz" so I try and get it low, the idea is to let the note breathe with the characteristic fretless buzz, you don't really want the note to choke.

I like using a little reverb/delay for solo type playing. Also like a touch of chorus when playing close to the neck, nice for melodic lines with feeling. The octave effect is really nice too, I find that works well for solo and accompanied playing. I used to use the Pearce BC1 Stereo Distortion pre...
