I've tried some blacknylon strings on an acoustic bass. Rotosound, La Bella and GHS. I prefer GHS blacknylon strings because its are more sweet with a light gauge compared to others ! I like really these two worlds, Upright Bass and Electric Bass !

I played during 10 years Upright Bass and this sound is... UNIQUE !
To play Jazz music it's ideal... The big bottom sound !

Elecrtic bass is more a guitar's approach with a tight and precise sound !

I like ebony fingerboard... so natural !
Ebony is a very hard wood with a good resistance to play roundwound strings.
It gives a very good reponse with fretless bass, strong low and treeble too, attack is reduced with a light natural compression.
It's a nice tone with a warm reponse.

I used during 20 years fretless basses with white dots on the fingerboard' edge where we put fingers.
I have bought a Squier VM with fret lines and white dots between these lines.
I use now 2 basses with fret lines and it's well to play in tune and mostly for the hight notes and chords.
