Post by FunkDaFied » Mon May 14, 2007 6:06 am

I apreciate this forum, but each subject is polluted by spammers.

It's so boring

If you see a topic polluted, don't hesitate to denounce it on this topic 8)

We will be trying some new blocking options and will contact the developers to see what else can be done.

This garbage puts a huge burden on the site administrator(s), not to mention the entire internet.

I would be interested in learning how many megawatts of electrical energy is consumed in wasted bandwidth, temporarily storing, and cleaning out, this crud.

You know, this does get down to the issue of freedom on the net. When the "Wild West' environment currently enabled gets regulated and cleansed of porn-spam and other objectionable material, the freedom we enjoy will also probably have to go.

I want spam gone forever, but I wish there was a way to preserve the freedom (not likely). It is unfortunate that this is even an issue here on FretlessBass.com
One good note makes my day.

Don't know that for sure, but I do know that they can and will indiscriminately suck every last bit of bandwidth, especially if they weasel into your back end (Now, get your mind out of the gutter....).
