Here is a sleeper for you. I don't think the seller knows what he/she has here. Neck thru, good P/U's, good hardware, hard case, has some ruts in the fingerboard but is easy to repair.

Asian Econo-Bass

I played a six string version of this bass and was very impressed, considering the low price.

Fender USA PJ Combination
This is my personal favourite configuration in a four string bass. Precision body with PJ P/U's.

I'm not too big on EMG P/U's but if you like them, this might be a good bass. Certainly more high frequency output than the stock P/U's.

Fretless Fender Precision P Bass Plus EMG's Jaco

Starting bid: US $250.00

These are good axes, I've never owned one but played one in a music store and was impressed by the Fender Precision vibe, and semi-upright sound. Usually sell in the $650 range.

Aria Pro II Avante Steve Bailey Signature Fretless 5
NEW

Starting bid: US $349.99
End time: Jul-26-07 16:18:52 PDT

SOLD! US $349.99 What a deal on a nice axe!
The used fretless bass market is obviously getting soft, this bass should have brought more money.

The manufacturers retail price of this bass is $1599.99
So this means about $799.95 street value (new).

A Fender? perhaps, perhaps not.

Fender 1976 Precission Bass Fretless Vintage USA

Current bid: US $152.50

SELLER REMOVED ITEM FROM AUCTION (usually a private deal)

The neck doesn't look authentic to me. Has tension adjuster at head instead of at heel. Fender decal looks suspect. Width at nut looks wrong for a Precision. I think this is a project bass. Nothing wrong with that, caveat emptor. I wouldn't spend more than $350 on it.

Still appears to be a good bass, although probably not a real Fender.

This boutique bass has a low opening bid of $499.00 and a Buy It Now price of $1650.00 I would expect this bass to go for around $1400, if it does not then it is additional evidence in a softening of the eBay bass market. I have been noticing quite a few basses going for less than they are worth. IF this is the trend, then a buying opportunity may be coming, providing you and I can afford food too.

RICK TURNER RENAISSANCE 5, RB5FL NEW DEMO WITH GIG BAG

Starting bid: US $499.00
Buy It Now price: US $1,650.00

Reserve Not Met High Bid US $1025.00 This is a very strong indicator of a soft market for fretless basses.

Fender Jazz Bass 62 RI - Jaco Fretless Made in Japan

Current bid: US $0.99
End time: Jul-29-07 18:30:00 PDT

SOLD! Winning bid: US $561.01 Lots of interest in this nice axe.

These are usually good axes. Note the tuners have fine teeth for ease of tuning. Not a Jaco relic, looks like a near new bass.

This looks legit to me. That isn't the adjuster at the nut, that is a walnut plug, which is common for 1970's Fenders. There was also a variation of neck widths for P-basses in the 70's, there were 2 or 3 if I recall. It is a project bass, due to the heavy modifications, which is not atypical for the time. I'd have to play it before buying it myself, too risky buying sight unseen.
