Considering epoxy coating

I am considering doing an epoxy coating on the bass I defretted, and wanted to ask for input of any kind.
Things like prep, what's the best brand of epoxy, what to do around the edges, what grit to do the finish sanding with, and anything else, I have a radiused sanding block that matches the 12 inch radius of the G&L L-2500 I defretted. It's a rosewood fingerboard.
I've thought about removing the dots from the face of the neck, too. They just don't sand down even with the wood, but I guess it might not matter with an epoxy coating.
I know a guy who does table tops and counter tops and he might be willing to help me with using a UV cured epoxy that he uses, but he's not sure about how well his stuff adheres to rosewood.
Thank you to all here.
