Is there Double Bass Players here?

Post by FunkDaFied » Wed Oct 28, 2015 8:25 pm

Hi All,

I've just started playing Double Bass (and I like it  )

Is there someone on this forum who plays double bass?

It will be good to discuss about this instrument 8)

It's very different the position of the left hand. And so intuitive...

It's really sensational the physical feeling and the sound who came's out

No Fret, No limit... 8)

Yes, I own and play Upright Bass. Although I don't consider that my primary instrument. I started playing the URB about the same time I started Fretless electric. My first URB instrument was a Gotz. These days I play a Kolstein Busetto.

I studied with Ron Simon (Seattle Symphony) and later had personal instruction from Ray Brown during my years in Los Angeles.

This board is really about the Fretless Electric Bass.
One good note makes my day.

Oh Cool :)

It's a shame we can't talk about upright bass. It's my second Year of learning and practicing double bass. I like it :D
I've been playing so what , nut ville, black and tan fantasy, Cantaloupe Island ...

You are welcome to discuss the Upright Bass, no limitations as long as it stays a family friendly conversation. URB is a fantastic instrument, it's just that the name of this site is FretlessBass.com so that sort of points toward to the electric fretless bass and semi-acoustic versions.
One good note makes my day.
