KPJ, you are right, under closer scrutiny I see a mahogany plug, not a tension adjuster hole.

Neck still looks strange to me.

I prefer the Precision neck and this is a jazz neck so I won't bid. But a very nice bass. Japanese quality, a really nice axe.

Another nice Precision style bass!

Claims to have a 1979 Fender neck, if it is Fender it has probably been refinished. Take a close look at the headstock and notice a rounding over at the edges on the rather thick finish which is probably polyurethane. Fender (to best of my knowledge) does not do this, so suspect seller is not aware of actual neck history, or is refinished. Tuners are Fender.

In either case, a nice fretless P bass.

This bass gets my highest rave, in fact my personal favourite fretless bass happen to be a Modulus Q5 but from 1988. These are fabulous basses but would suggest installing a John East U-Retro pre-amp.

If you like mwahh for days and a really mean growl, this is hard to beat.

I'm very interested to see what this brings, I'm guessing $1600, and worth it!
