Welcome, to fretless bass dot com.

That's a good question that someone else will have to answer.
One good note makes my day.

maple fingerboard? what's that like?

i guess i can tell everybody about my fretless. it's a fender jazz with one kneck pickup...a bartolini "classic" soapbar--flatwounds and a foam mute. the fingerboard (i'm still getting used to the term fingerboard) i sanded down alot!!! but still had a couple of spots that needed epoxy. it's got a real woody voice; with the james jamerson 'bell' feel.

does anybody know if the same fretless protype that jamerson threw and refused to ever play again ended up in the hands of ralphie armstrong?

anyways, i want to setup a fretless bass for sustain and legato and glissandos so any imput on how to do that...as well as the original maple fingerboard question would be awsome.

here's an interview you guys might like.
