I extracted the frets and filled the slots with black epoxy. Drill and filled the side markers and put new side markers in the proper position. Installed a Smith 5 string Bridge with string spacing at either 17 or 18mm depending on the string gauge. Bridge P/U has dual winding and phase sw. U-Retro preamp (Very essential) Honduran Mahogany body with figured maple top. This is one of the older Modulus necks without a tensioning rod. It remains absolutely perfect except that the strings must be standard tension. That means that I can’t use TI Jazz strings. They are too light gauge for my tastes anyway, even if they sound super. Currently using Tobias round wound strings but stil looking for the ultimate tone. I love this Bass. If I could only have one, this it. The U-Retro eliminated that nasy Phonolic neck brittleness that used to bug me. Now the bass is fantastic.
